Exploring Different Styles

These 2 latest paintings of mine is actually some sort of an exercise to explore my capabilities in handling different medium of paints.

Untitled - Oil paint - with use of texture paste

"Bunga Anis" in acrylic paint. Using outlines on the flowers and foreground leaves.

Note: Picture quality and angle not so good as these were taken with my camera phone. Double click on the images to enlarge picture.

dear cheesecake,
my comment on 2nd pic is..its a good practice..
tak siap lagi kan? but doing real object is a good practice , technically.

on the first painting,
i like the expression..would suggest u to put it in wetcanvas under abstract channel. see what people say. But, i dont normally see oil painting is combined with texture paste, probably because i use acrylic all the time..
probably, the issue would be..what went first in the paiting? the texture paste and oil or oil first and texture? or oil mixed with texture.
Try ask around in the forum. I am worry about the
possibilites of the texture got peelled off..

but sincerely..i like it...
you go girl!!

Oh my! Terkejut baca your response Sity. Biar benar! Rasa I could have improved more but just not sure how and where.

Shahrir...2 nd painting tu dah siap but I guess it can always be added here and there and enhanced. About the texture paste tu, I applied it on the canvas and let it dry first before painting over it. I think that is the safest bet because u can always underpaint with acrylic for oil painting kan? So i suppose the concept is the same here. And the last I touched that painting, the paste is pretty sturdy.

Kak Elita, like the first one...don't know why but think u're good at abstract rather than drawing human being, I love to draw human being but sucks when I start painting it...hahhaah...lama giler tak melukis...

Dear Mai,
Thanks for pointing out which type of art Im good at. I, myself do not know for sure, that's why you see varieties here. Trying everything and hopefully one day, I will find what I'm comfortable doing most. I just love drawing people's face but that don't necessarily means I'm good at it :(
Takpe lah, just for fun, why not. It took me lot of courage to post my artworks in this blog initially. Takut kena gelak...hehehe. But tak kisah la tu. Kalau tak camna nak tau apa komen orang kan..?
I think you should start drawing again. Boleh belajar from you.

Emm me drawing? i can draw but I think it's more towards comic-like picture/like those woman in cartoon...When I was in secondary school I love to draw woman figures n their clothing, interested to be a fashion designer...don't know why i stop drawing...should start drawing, u have the guts Sis, it's a good effort n i love to see yr drawings...all of it...it doesn't have to be beautiful but the energy n the spirit u put in it, that counts...keep on drawing n painting... :-)
